DJ Uijui comes from a family of horse trotting professionals and horse owners, growing up at the tracks sporting a “Trot” cap long before his upper lip was blessed by the iconic moustache. As time went by, the self-styled “Dimitri From Tyrnävä” was doing less trotting with the horses and more galloping on the turntables. Uijui has been an integral part of the northern Finland club circuit for the past 10 years where he is known to blend bona fide house, techno and disco; sounds close to his heart.
The wide-spread admiration for Uijui’s production chops has been imminent for several years now, only stalled by the instant gratification of endless night outs, snooker and one or two shattered computer hard disks. He’s been crafting discreet and thoughtful, yet effective midnight sun house and heartfelt techno over the years concluding in a 3-track EP for Cold Blow.
